Organizing Documents:

Don’t just store documents. Store useful information with them. Analyze it instantly. This is probably the most important concept about SharePoint which is commonly unknown and underutilized. It is called Content Types.

  1. Hi Nitin,
I hope we are allowed to ask questions here regarding the topic.
Announcements seem to be a bit tricky to define as Content types. I wanted to add a Content type with additional columns. So I copied the existing Content type and added the columns I wanted to use. It was created, I assigned it to the list. But when I want to create a new list item with the new Content type, the form that opens lets me enter only the fields that I added, no existing fields 🙁
So I figure, that there is something Special about the announcements, I would love to read something about it in one of your future Posts.
    Regards
    Ingo

  2. This is helpful! However, when I attempted to re-produce the solution based on the steps provided. there was an error on the top right corner on the document that says “Location:Not Saved * Required”. I notice from your video that you do not have such error. Any idea what am I missing?

    1. Hi
Can you post some screenshot of the exact error? That will help me resolve your issue.
