  2. Hi Doc,

Missed this as you have done it on Sunday and I dont check your blog in sunday. Moreover your blog entries are not coming on correct dates.

I could do it myself. The toughest part was to create stars using scatter–> bubble chart using 430 stars through rand(),rand() and randbetween(1,3), Rest was easy. So I am not giving the full answer as deadline already passed.

  3. Thanks.
    1. Open a new powerpoint blank slide.
    2. Right Click –> Format Background- Solid Fill- Black
    3. Insert Chart–> X-Y Scatter – Bubble
    4. In Edit Data there are X-Value, Y -Value and Size
    5. In X and Y Value write formula = rand()
    6.in Size write formula = randbetween(1,3)
7.Copy the same cell below upto 430 cells
    8. Select series to =Sheet1!$A$1:$C$430
9.Increase the chart area to 10.6 and 21.42.
10.This will increase the chart to outside of the slide boundary.
11.Zoom slide to 40% to look complete chart.
12.Go To series Y-Value and scale bubble size to 1 (from default 100)
13.Rename “ChartN” to “Stars” for better understanding.
14.Copy and Paste the same chart for “Stars upside down” . Rotate it 180 degree for mirror effect.
    15.Adjust the position
16.Insert all the required pictures on the slide
17.pictures are earth only, moon, falling star1, falling star 2, TextBox1
    18. Write Name “Kakesh from Kakesh.com” in Text Box 🙂
    19. Copy and paste moon, bring it down, rotate it 180 degree for mirror image and add artistic effect blur, rename it moon down
    20. put too circle at very top for falling star1 and falling star2, solid fill with the same colour of star
    21. Now open selection pane and we should have following objects on the slide
Textbox1, earth only, moon bottom, moon top, stars uoside down, earth, falling star, falling star2, stars
    22. start adding animations
23.all animation would star together. so start with previous
    24. stars, stars upside down, moon top and moon bottom would have motion animation arcs
    25. While two moons will go upto the edge of slide stars would come outside the edge of the slide.
    25. set timings and smooth start, smooth end in this case smooth start and end would be 0
    26. In stars upside down and moon bottom set emphasis animation transparency = 75%
    27. Add motion animation lines to falling star 1 and 2.
    28. Falling star1 delay is 3.3 sec and falling star2 delay is 9.4
    29. add exit animation disappear to falling star2 after 10.2 sec

I thing I could put all the steps required to create this animation. Believe me I have created this from scratch and I could run just like your animation but it took me around 3 hours to do complete animation.

    Good quiz and learning indeed.

    1. Hi Kakesh
Congratulations. You are the winner. Although Manasdash also posted the steps logically, you win this time. Because you have really written a detailed description of the steps and even if you had not mentioned it, it is obvious that you actually did it from scratch. It is impossible to get the order of doing things right by reverse engineering what I had done. Great work Kakesh.

Even though the winner is announced, I request all of you to at least have a cursory look at the animation and spend at least 10 minutes understanding how it was done. You will learn a lot of useful stuff there.

      Dr Nitin

    1. Yes Manas. Thanks for the feedback.

This time I tried a different approach. First show the end result which is absolutely appealing and compelling. And then learn the internals.
The outcome becomes your motivation to explore.
