Digital Transformation visual definition

Here is a simple way to understand what Digital Transformation is all about. This entire animation was created in PowerPoint.
You can download the PPTX file from here.

It is a short, 22 seconds animation. The concept is simple. We must map technology features to improve business and / or create new opportunities. Often there is a gap between what business needs and what IT has to offer. It is not a competence problem. It is a communication gap.

Those who like PowerPoint will find many useful techniques used here. These include: Morph, creative use of gradients, use of the right transition, animation. The image on the last slide was found using Design In PowerPoint. The tag clouds (word clouds) were created using https://wordart.com

Use Teams Zoom

Have you tried the Teams Zoom feature? It can make your life easier.  This works in the Desktop and Browser editions. Not on mobile app. Try zooming in and out and choose what suits you best.

Why use Teams Zoom

Zooming In makes it easier to read and notice details. Find what level is comfortable for your eyes and the type of work you do. It will help you reduce eyestrain and work more effectively.  Sometimes, Zooming out also helps to get the overall picture.

Office 365 Poster : Learn which product to use when

Office 365 has lot of apps. It can be confusing to know which app to use when. Here is the solution. To solve the problem I designed the Office 365 Poster.

It is simple, action oriented poster. First column lists common activities all of us perform and second column shows the recommended app and feature to be used.

You can download the PDF file from here. Use it, Print it, Share it with colleagues and friends… just spread the word.

The PDF is protected. Only printing is allowed. Of course, you can take a screenshot as well. But editing and copying is not permitted.

Have an idea to improve the poster? Post a comment.

Note that all the latest icons have been incorporated as on 15 Nov 2019. As and when new icons are released, I will keep the poster updated.

Teams Private Channels Best Practices

Teams Private Channels allow a subset of a Team to have access to conversations and data. Although this is a very coveted feature, it must be used prudently.

Thoughts and Best Practices: Teams Private Channels

  1. Don’t use Private Channels just because the feature is available
  2. Think very hard before creating a private channel
  3. Hiding things within a team does not lead to better teamwork
  4. Creating private channel makes managing the team more complex
  5. Private Channels are not the same as hierarchical security
  6. Do not overuse Private Channels
  7. Compare creating separate Teams vs having Private Channels inside the Team from a business point of view and then decide
  8. Project Management and Vendor Management are two different things – require two different Teams

Here are the details…
